MILBANK



Situated at 102 Bank Street stands the oldest commercial building in Jackson Louisiana. A massive, romantic antebellum mansion with irresistible charm known today as the "Old Bank Building" -- Milbank. Historically named by the ronowned Mrs. Mamie Austin Rouzan of Jackson Louisiana for the one time proud owners of the Clinton Port Hudson Railroad Banking House (1836) and Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Millers (1970).

Following its service in a variety of community needs, the home has passed through a succession of proud owners and continued restorative efforts resulting in preservation of the original character and elegance of the structure. The present proud owners, Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Harvey of Jackson have maintained that tradition. Today, as yesterday, Milbank presents an elegantly formal appearance derived from the Greek revival architecture whose exterior features twelve, thirty foot doric columns.
